AngelMed Scapular Thoracic Gilet Trainer

Designed by surgeons and a trusted frontline treatment for various shoulder, spinal, and pelvic conditions. This powerful close-contact gilet-style vest uses integrated components to lock down and control shoulder blades (scapulae), whilst also aligning the spine and pelvis with subsequent resetting of muscle memory, resulting in correction to musculoskeletal structures, posture, and body symmetry.

Biofeedback is a critical feature of the gilet instilling a sense of how good posture should feel. By correcting shoulder blade position, and crucially, retraining muscle memory, shoulder strength and range can be improved. The ultimate goal is body self-correction without the use of the gilet.

Research by London consultant and shoulder guru Mr Ian Bayley illustrates how important it is to identify wrong shoulder action and the consequences of ignoring it. Scapular Dyskinesis (winging shoulder blades)

 Scapular Thoracic Gilet Trainer
KEY POINTS

Successfully treats Scapular Dyskinesis (winging shoulder blade(s), all closed clavicle (collarbone) fractures, including those normally surgically plated, skeletal deformity and many other injuries and conditions of the torso.
Accredited by leading consultants and practitioners.
Stimulates essential bio-feedback for better proprioception and neuromuscular control i.e. a better brain-body connection and knowing where your shoulders are together with an understanding of how 'good posture' should feel.
Suitable for continious and extended wear thanks to the use of specially developed breathable fabrics.
Powerful components fix and hold shoulder blades (scapulae) down to the chest wall delivering better shoulder function, stability and strength.
Improves musculoskeletal alignment improving body symmetry balance, strength, nerve and blood flow.
Lifts the diaphragm up and away from pelvic activity, improving posture and easing strain in the lower back.
Allows freedom of movement, including arms reaching forwards upwards and backwards. Does not cut-up at the underarms or restrict blood supply to the arms or cause pressure on nerves.
An important posture correction device for use in the office, driving, and when lifting and twisting the torso.
Can be worn to improve performance during sports activities and gym training sessions. Used by athletes for muscle correction and after competitions to improve recovery time.
Proven as an important adjunct to rehabilitation therapy, as a post-surgery safeguard, and as an effective solution where surgery is contra-indicated.
Modern living persistently contributes to bad posture with subsequent muscle memory reduction. Wearing the vest reintroduces 'a good posture habit', avoiding chronic pain and debilitating conditions.

Also particularly useful for back and sciatic nerve pain.
Known to alleviate COPD, reducing steroid puffer use.

  • As a post-surgery safeguard, and provides an effective solution where surgery is contra-indicated.
  • Scapular Dyskinesis (winging shoulder blade(s).

  • All closed clavicle (collarbone) fractures, including those normally surgically plated.
  • Skeletal deformity, i.e. scoliosis. Pelvic pain.
  • Postural conditions and related pain
  • Shoulder injuries and conditions of the torso

In as little as 20 minutes, tension in the shoulders and neck disappears. Pain is significantly reduced and is often resolved altogether. Wearing the vest for as little as two days consecutively can affect muscle memory and significantly improve posture.

Even after removing the vest good posture is retained. Muscle memory improvement varies from one person to another.

Why is good posture so difficult to achieve?

Our shoulder blades dictate the position of our shoulders and shoulder blades have few mechanoreceptors (the means by which the brain connects to them), meaning, we don't know where our shoulders are in space.

Modern living persistently contributes to bad posture increasing the incidence of shoulder malfunction. Wearing the gilet and, if possible,  combining it with physiotherapy, can be a life-changer helping avoid those painful bouts.
